How Are You Treating Your Mother ???

Dont neglect this question, ask yourself and reflect.

Seriously, ask yourself!

Astagfirullah. Today I witnessed something that truly broke my heart in so many ways.

Astagfirullah.
_____
Ya ikhwaan wa akhwat, why do we do this to our own parents ? Is this the value of our parents to us ?

Today, I witnessed two incidents that I never thought I would actually see because they are actually sharing same faith as mine, but indeed, Islam is perfect and we are not, but I wanted to share this because I really think we can reflect from it.

I was with my aunt and with us were two women, one old woman and one who was like of the age of my aunt. There was silence everywhere until suddenly I heard something that broke my heart, the other woman was raising her voice to the old woman (who is her own mother) saying to her that “you should know where to go now, you need to ride this, okay, I don’t have time to come with you anymore, so know where you should go.”

Astagfirullah. She was old, she was in need of company and yet she was told something like this,

astagfirullah, why do we do this to our own mothers? :(

I made dua, but then out of the blue the car stopped and then came another old woman who was wearing an abaya and what caught my attention was when the other lady who was with her told her also, “Okay, go now.” but the gesture was so different and again, this was her own mother, and she didn’t even help her mother rather she turned her back and went ahead not even looking back, Astagfirullah.

I thought that was it, but when I looked at the old woman, her abaya was wore in a wrong way, the inside was the outside, if you know what I mean. Astagfirullah, why can’t we even tell our mother that the way she wore the dress was wrong?

I can’t understand why we could do such thing to our parents. Should we wait for the moment that they pass away before we start treating them the way we should treat them?
_____

Today with all my experience, I was reminded of the story of a woman who earned the forgiveness of Allah Azza Wa Jall just because of the way she treated her own mother.

It was narrated that when Abu Musa Ash’ari Radiyallahu Anhu and Abu Amir Radiyallahu Anhu came to the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam to enter the fold of Islam and pledge allegiance to him, he asked them:

“There was a woman in your caravan who was called by such and such name. How is she?”
They replied: “We left that woman with her family.”
The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said: “In fact she has been granted forgiveness.”
They asked: “O Messenger of Allah Why has she been granted forgiveness?”
The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said: “For treating her mother kindly.”
Then the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam said: “Her mother was very old. A crier warned the people of her community that their enemy was going to attack them at night (so they should flee from the place). Thus she also left home CARRYING HER MOTHER ON HER BACK. When she got extremely tired, she put her down. Then she PLACED HERSELF BELLY TO BELLY against her mother placing the FEET UNDER THE MOTHER’S FEET to shelter them from the scorching heart. Thus that woman achieved deliverance for that act of hers (and Allah granted her forgiveness.)”

Allahu’akbar, look at the way that woman treated her mother, wallah, when I remember this story I cry my heart out, subhan’Allah how I wished I could have given such service to my mother .

My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, those who are still with their mothers, grab every chance that you can be of service to your mother, do your best to earn their du’a! subhan’Allah at the status of our parents in Islam.

And of those who are not with them anymore (just like me) then see to it that with every du’a you mention them and ask for Allah Azza Wa Jall to forgive them, wallah, we can never repay them for everything they have done for us. Subhan’Allah.

So let the story of the two sisters whom I have encountered be a warning and a reminder to all of us, and let the story of the woman who earned the forgiveness of Allah an inspiration to us. in sha Allah.

Indeed, it is not through the way we dress or way we look that one can attain piety, it will always through our worship to Allah Azza Wa Jall.

So ask yourself please, should the day of their deaths come before you would realize how much time you have wasted?

Astagfirullah.

May Allah Azza Wa Jall grant our parents the greatest of all rewards, to see Him in Jannah.
Ameen
